Our Beliefs

We are a Bible-believing, Spirit-filled church where we believe that God is active in our every day lives. We are a part of a large, global fellowship of churches called the Assemblies of God. As an Assembly of God church we believe. . .

THE BIBLE IS INSPIRED BY GOD and declares His design and plan for mankind.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 | 1 Thessalonians 2:13 | 2 Peter 1:21

THERE IS ONE TRUE GOD revealed in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This concept of one God of three persons is called the Trinity.

Deuteronomy 6:4 | Isaiah 43:10-11 | Matthew 28:19 | Luke 3:22

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS FULLY GOD and as God’s son, Jesus was both human and divine.

Matthew 1:23 | Hebrews 7:26 | Acts 2:22 | 1 Corinthians 15:3 | Matthew 28:6 | Acts 1:9

HUMANKIND WAS CREATED GOOD BUT FELL AS A RESULT OF SIN ushering in both physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God.

Genesis 1:26-27 | Genesis 2:17 | Romans 5:12-19

GOD OFFERS SALVATION THROUGH HIS SON JESUS. Salvation is deliverance from spiritual death and enslavement by sin.

Luke 24:47 | John 3:3 | Ephesians 2:8

THERE ARE TWO ORDINANCES – BAPTISM IN WATER AND HOLY COMMUNION. All who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord are to be baptized by immersion in water. The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion is a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.

Luke 24:49 | Acts 1:4,8 | John 7:37-39 | Hebrews 12:28 | Mark 16:20 | Matthew 28:19 | 1 Corinthians 11:26

THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FOR EVERYONE and empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times.

Luke 24:49 | Acts 1:4,8 | 1 Corinthians 12:1-31

THE INITIAL PHYSICAL EVIDENCE OF THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT is speaking in other tongues as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

Acts 2:4 | 1 Corinthians 12:4-10,28

SANCTIFICATION IS A PROCESS THAT ALIGNS US WITH GOD and is an act of separating ourselves from evil.

Romans 12:1-2 | 1 Thessalonians 5:23 | Romans 6:1-11

GOD DESIGNED THE CHURCH FOR A PURPOSE AND MISSION to seek and save all who are lost in sin. The Church is the body of Christ and includes all Christians, with no boundaries as to age, race, gender, or denomination.

Acts 1:8 | 1 Corinthians 12:13 | Ephesians 4:11-16

GOD CALLS SOME TO LEAD IN MINISTRY and is for the fourfold purpose of leading the Church in: (1) Evangelization of the world, (2) worship of God, (3) building a body of believers conforming to the life of Christ, and (4) meeting human need with ministries of love and compassion.

Mark 16:15-20 | John 4:23-24 | Ephesians 4:11,16 | Galatians 2:10; 6:10

GOD PROVIDES HEALING THROUGH THE ATONEMENT, which is Christ’s suffering and death for our reconciliation with God.

Isaiah 53:4-5 | Matthew 8:16-17 | James 5:14-16

OUR FUTURE IS ANCHORED IN THE BLESSED HOPE, which is the scriptural truth of the Lord’s soon return. All Christians who have died will one day rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air. Christians who have not yet died will be raptured or caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 | Romans 8:23 | Titus 2:13 | 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

Zechariah 14:5 | Matthew 24:27,30 | Revelation 1:7 | 19:11-14; 20:1-6

THERE WILL BE A FINAL JUDGMENT FOR ALL in which those who have died without accepting Christ’s salvation will be sent to eternal punishment in a lake of fire.

Matthew 25:46 | Mark 9:43-48 | Revelation 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8

CHRISTIANS WILL ENJOY THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him.

2 Peter 3:13 | Revelation 21 through 22
